Health Insurance & Payment Options
We want your visits with us to feel easy – no surprises about insurance or billing for your OBGYN care. Rainier OB/GYN is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (Regence & Premera), plus Cigna, Aetna, and additional plans. Not sure? Check your benefits or call us—our team is happy to help answer any questions along the way.
Insurance Plans We Accept
We work with a wide range of Washington state insurance providers, including:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (Incl. Regence and Premera)
- Cigna
- Aetna
- UnitedHealthcare (Incl. UMR)
- First Choice
- Kaiser Permanente (Open Access PPO, no CORE/HMO Plan)
- Medicaid/DSHS (Molina, UHC, CHP, Wellpoint, Coordinated Care)
- Medicare
- Tricare Select and other military health plans
- All Marketplace Plans (except Coordinated Care Cascade Select)
- Healthcare cost-sharing plans (Christian Health Ministry, Medi-Share, Samaritan Healthcare)
Don’t see your plan listed? Call us – we may still be able to work with your coverage. If you have both private insurance and Medicaid, you must present your private insurance as your primary coverage for any medical service you receive. Medicaid will only cover the cost after your private insurance has paid its portion. Failing to provide your private insurance information first could be considered mispresentation and may lead to billing error or even allegations of insurance fraud.
Preauthorization & Referrals
Some insurance plans require preauthorization before certain services like imaging, procedures, or surgeries. In many cases, our office can handle this for you, but it’s always best to double-check with your insurance company.
If your plan (including Tricare Prime, VA, US Family Healthplan) requires a referral from your primary care provider, please make sure that step is completed before your visit.
Copays, Deductibles & Coinsurance
Copays are due at the time of your appointment. Depending on your plan, you may also be responsible for meeting your deductible or paying coinsurance. Your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurer will outline these costs.
Out-of-Network Care
If we are not in-network with your insurance, you may still be able to see us using your out-of-network benefits. Please contact your insurance provider before scheduling to understand what costs may apply.
Self-Pay & Payment Plans
We welcome patients without insurance and offer clear, upfront pricing. Payment can be made by credit card, debit, cash, or HSA/FSA card. For larger balances, we can discuss payment plan options. Contact our billing team to learn more.
